Modern Day Israel, Ancient Psalm

Psalm 124

If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;  If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us: Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul: Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Look to the middle east for a minute. Look at the news coming out of it, look at the reports, the violence.. And yet, even surrounded by enemies on all sides, that desire to wipe them off the face of the earth, they are still there. Physically impossible. Yet, completely true. There have been reports from the opposing forces stating that it must be the God of Abraham that is protecting Israel. I find that fascinating, because most of the time, the people making that report are Muslim, and also follow the God of Abraham. If they truly believe this is the case, then why continue to raise arms against the children of Israel? I can’t make heads or tails of it.

But look. Even in the time of David, this was happening. And his response was the above Psalm. It is being confirmed more and more, daily. Not even Russia back in the 1950’s was able to destroy this puny little country. RUSSIA. You know. The big bad country chillin in the north of that continent? And they had help. At least 3 other countries were with them on this. And they all failed. Why?

The answer truly is simple. The Children of Israel are the chosen people. His own chosen. Any who go against them, will be going against God Himself. That will not go terribly well for any human.
