There comes a point where it becomes necessary to examine yourself, to look inwards, and start asking yourself the big questions: who are you, and what do you want? I decided that it was time to do so over the past few days. I discovered that I have very few things I actually want in life. I want to be a good husband. I want to be a good dad. I want to provide an excess in abundance for my family. But what I realized is that what I need is to be in the presence of God.
Peeling back the layers of life, delving deeper towards reality itself. Our physical life is but a layer on the outer edge of reality. Everything that happens out here is just a ripple from somewhere deeper inside reality, long before we even learn to commune with God and pass the veil, everything that happens here starts in the Other World. The layers of life are so convincing though. They try to keep us locked up in this world, and strive to prevent our transcendence. If we remain part of this world, instead of taking the mantle of Christ, our birthright, the problems of this world will claim us and knock us down.
All of creation is waiting to see what it looks like when a Christian knows who they are in Christ, and claims that authority and power over Satan and physical reality. We are not called to deal with the world as it is, but as it ought to be. “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven..”
This requires a knowledge of His heart and love for people that transcends all else in our lives. Only then can we call those things into existence that aren’t, by faith, as though they are, joining in His creative work.
